Another Winter Walk

The other day it was about a stiff breeze and a relative sudden temperature drop (and winter attire), now it´s just about another walk in the neighborhood. The cold and the snowy has become a matter of fact really quick, on the other hand there are warm surges that come from seemingly nowhere within 24 hours. Tuesday -31ºC as lowest, Wednesday +7ºC as highest temperature, that´s crazy. But nothing new; I remember the winter around my 18th birthday in the Washington D.C. area, when we had a wonderful -10ºC at christmas and then +25ºC just a few days later.

Anyway, the Chicago winter is a highlight for me personally, as I consider myself to be a nordic type of person. I also like warm summers and the hanging around in beach chairs under a solar sail. But if I had to make a choice for permament living I´d go for the arctic circle instead of the tropical green belt. The good thing about that choice would be the fact that it wouldn´t get crowded, as I belong to a minority preferring the colder latitudes.
