VENICE AT NIGHT

Venice is a blast. It still is, even when the number of visitors comes back towards pre-corona times. Well, we´re not quite there yet, but Piazza San Marco gets that squeezy sardines-in-a-tin-feeling again. It doesn´t really matter that much because most of the time one spends the time elsewhere, meandering around the countless lanes where the stream of people fades into thin trickles, and sometimes you find yourself all alone in an alley or a tiny square.

Another way to avoid the crowds is to roam around when the day visitors have left and many others have retreated to bars, restaurants or hotel rooms. The hour when twilight comes to an end and night begins.

These pics are from a recent trip and are done with smartphone only. It´s strange how with a smartphone I changed the viewing angle and made it a habit to shoot pics upright. I also still shoot horizontal, but here are only upright views per coincidence - and new habit.
