Close to Home: Berlin Tiergarten in Fall

Why travel far when the prettiest sights are at home? In everyday life we develop a subjective point of view of knowing it all. My neighborhood and my city can´t really offer me new vantage points. Objectiveness tells a different story. Imagine taking a few days off and spending them at home, i.e. in your home town. Well, I suppose this strongly depends on the size of a home town, but let´s say it´s a major town, a town where one doesn´t realize what´s going on in other boroughs, where one never has the time to wander into different parts of town. Let´s say it´s Berlin and let´s say that the weather is nice. Now that the grey concrete blanket above us makes us feel as if it hadn´t been any different in our lifetime, and we don´t want to take those few days off to spend them here at home, we have to remember that our fall has actually been quite pretty. The following pictures are proof of that. Here we go.

The craziness of German tidiness hasn´t reached the wooded areas yet.

Leaves are allowed to stay on the ground in Tiergarten.

Tiergarten is just one of the many forests in town and by far not the largest.
