Keweenaw Peninsula

Beyond Laurium and Calumet lies the cape, beyond the cape lies the great water, beyond the great water lie Isle Royale and Thunder Bay and finally, beyond that there is the endless wilderness, the land of thousand lakes and much less humans. Like a new order burdened upon us the grey endless water and sky waited to be charged and sliced although we did not have the physical and spiritual instruments.

The woods beyond the heavenly coloring, becoming dull and leaf-less but also light and transparent, were good for roaming and searching. Searching the shelter needed at the end of the day at the end of the way. The quarter and roof of wood from the woods, the shingles lain in a patient and certain process, now awaited our tired limbs to lay down next to the hearth.

Quiet rumbling passing over, drizzle and misty veils on their way down south, nobody knows what will become of the night. No oracle accepted within these walls, the waiting will reveal the truth; until then the resting does its work with body and soul. A fresh awakening without the previous ache lets spirits soar high, and higher still with the pristine outlook we receive as a gift. And beyond lies the day that we will conquer.
