Focus Denmark: Bunkers and Fjords

Denmarks landscape has a meditative quality which is independent from the weather. Come rain or come shine - it is there and you stare. By just sitting around and staring you´ll automatically fall into repose, you´ll relax and recuperate if necessary. That is why some people go there. Not to hunt adventures but to rest and do next to nothing. You need a soft spot for the North and for fast changing weather patterns, but if so, this is the place to be. Sometimes there´ll be little surprises like a bunker in the dunes or a seal on the beach. Other than that just the contemplative wideness.

The Germans left about 7,000 bunkers along Denmarks coast - a part of the ludicrous Atlantic Wall.

Luckily the sand has reclaimed many of them.

Small concrete access roadways were built. The foundation

of the main road along the peninsula between the

North Sea and the Fjord was also laid in this time.

The southern part of the Fjord is quite narrow but still accessible by smaller fishing vessels.
