Gardens of the World - All are welcome

In one of the least popular boroughs of Berlin lies one of the most beautiful parks of the city, the Gardens of the World, which are an ode to global gardening culture in a 52 acre realm to get lost into. Nine themes take you away from Berlin daily life into Chinese, Japanese, Balinese or Oriental mode, just to name four. Berlin is full of hidden gems and this is one of them. A major gem and perhaps not so hidden after all, but many just don´t make it there, because by Berlin standards it´s quite far away (even if it can easily and comfortably be reached with public transport) and Marzahn is associated with the depressing socialist concrete slab architecture. Also Marzahn had, or still has, a reputation of being a right-wing stronghold in Berlin. Luckily, other more open-minded and friendlier parts of society, have taken hold of some parts of Marzahn. Many move here because rents are a lot cheaper than in central Berlin, and, even though it is a satellite community the area is very green. The Gardens of the World Park not only emphasizes the green impression but also the Berlin motto of being open for the whole world. All are welcome!
